Intelligent force measurement in deep drilling
Arctic cold down to -40 degrees, torrid desert sun with extreme heat: Extreme climatic conditions are never a rarity in deep drilling. The technology must be up to the task - even during sustained reliable force measurement.
Practical example of a deep drill - the requirement
The tensile forces must be measured during the drilling operation and monitored for adherence to limits. Hitherto, this has been implemented in practice via a tension transducer (40t). This is installed at a fixed point of the hoist rope in the load chain. Owing to the 8-fold reeving, tensile forces of up to 8x40t = 320t were able to be measured.
With the tecsis solution the necessary performance level in the system can be ensured.
Does the measuring point lie in a potentially explosive zone? In this case, explosion protection conformant to Atex directives Ex ib IIC T3/T4 must be guaranteed.
tecsis offers force transducers with Atex certification. Do all of the forces from the entire drilling unit (drill pipe and sled) act almost undamped on the load pins at the mounting point? Even the impulse forces?
The tecsis solution is designed for a breaking load of >500%. This also guarantees an excellent zero-point stability. Despite this very robust implementation, tecsis fulfilled the measurement accuracy requirements of <1%. Are you to facing a particular challenge in deep drilling ?
